Cystathionine beta synthase null homocyst
WebSep 13, 2024 · Reproductive success in mice depends on sexually dimorphic major urinary proteins (Mup) that facilitate interactions between females and males. Deletion of cystathionine β-synthase (Cbs) gene, a metabolic gene important for homeostasis of one-carbon metabolism, impairs reproduction by causing female infertility in mice. WebOur previous study demonstrated that cystathionine β synthase (CBS) is highly expressed in the cumulus–oocyte complex during ovulation. However, the role of CBS during oocyte maturation remains uncertain. In this study, a small-interfering (si) RNA interference (siRNA) approach was used to investigate the potential role of CBS during oocyte maturation.
